Two quick links

Very cool:

The 100 year old photo blog
http://www.shorpy.com/

High res scans of old (100) and oldish (50+ years) photos. F-listers with kids will be horrified at some of the child labor photos, though then again, they are ammunition for "see how much better you have it?" talk with your kids.

Interesting for NJ residents
NJ Tax records search Curious as to what your neighbors paid for their house? Wonder who owns the place over yonder? Know what county your house-owning friend lives in but need to look up their street address?

Sometimes the Internet is both cool and frightening.

ok

Here: This is a frequent reference to me.

There is a link under NJ to the link you posted, and others. Tax Maps, scans of deeds and mortgage papers depending on county

The photo blog is really neat. My Dad recently borrowed older photos from his aunt, and we have some in there of my grandfather when he was small (it had to be around 1915 or so). I can't wait to get the disk from my Dad so I can see what all we got.

It's easy to forget how much like us past generations were. I mean, technology changes, fashions change, but a lot of things about people stay the same.
