I voted 17, but that doesn't include permit type stuff, which I wouldn't have a problem with happening at 16.
There's something that makes me a little uneasy about 15 year olds driving around with permits out there... though I'd have a hard time arguing the case that anyone who is physically and mentally able to pass the test (at any age) shouldn't be allowed to drive. I mean, that's why we're tested. I need to evaluate my biases on this one for a while.
18. Too many idiot kids around here doing stupid stuff in their cars while my son and I are walking. Plus, let's wait till they're adults and can bear the brunt of the responsibility if they do something dumb and hurt someone else. Why put the parents in the line of fire? (Admittedly, parents who give their kids cars and accept that responsibility are digging their own graves, but still...)
