Vroom-vroom.

Got to stretch my driving legs for the first time in a long time; it had been a year or more since I last drove. Living in the NYC area makes a car more of a liability than a benefit. Last Friday I visited my parents, and wound up driving both the car and one of the farm tractors. Another tractor had become stuck, and needed a tow to get it out of the hole. I think it has been close to ten years since I drove tractor. It is amazing how skills like that come back when you need them.

For whatever reason, I find the smell of burning diesel fuel oddly pleasant. I think maybe I connect it with my father. The smell of gasoline, on the other hand, makes me feel sick to my stomach.
