This was a fairly quiet week. I finished reading Wildside by Steven Gould (author of Jumper and Reflex), which was "eh". I liked the first half, then it started downhill all the way to the end. 2.5/5 stars.

Friday I took some dance photos at the technical rehearsal for the local modern dance show. I should work on those soon.

Saturday and Sunday were fairly lazy days, in that I got to cook and bake. I made ground turkey sloppy joes, and baked a loaf of bread from scratch, which was *super* easy. I used a no-knead bread recipe that had been in the NY Times recently. (Recipe here.) Seriously, I think I maybe spent 15 minutes total actually doing something other than letting time pass in making it. The concept is you substitute time for effort, and let the yeast do all the work for you.

It's very yummy, crisp on the outside, moist in the middle. I'll definitely be making this or variants of it again. I think I'd like to try one with rye flour and caraway seeds.

Also, I exposed [livejournal.com profile] yolen to Ultraviolet -- the 1998 BBC Vampire (excuse me, "Code V") mini-series, which she loved, and agreed that it was a shame there were only six episodes made.
