An update, at last.
Jan. 18th, 2004 10:45 pmBeen bad about updating my LJ of late.
So I figured I'd make a random infodump. Feel free to skip.
The holidays were good. Went to my friend John's for New Years; small but comfortable gathering of a dozen or so people.
Forgot to pay a few bills in the holiday rush. I hate paying bills. Not the money aspect, the task of actually doing it. I should sign up for a bill payment service.
Installing anti-spam software at work, and co-incidentally, discovered a machine in another area had a vulnerable web CGI that was being used to send out spam. Closed it down.
My sleep schedule's been screwy this weekend, with me being awake to 4am. Reading, mostly. Just re-read Zodiac (Neal Stephenson). I was reading Quicksilver, but I left it at my parents over Christmas time, so I have to wait to get that back. I'm also re-reading Tim Powers's _On Stranger Tides_.
My parents are back from Hawaii. They were there for a conference, so they got to do little tourism.
Called up and talked to a couple of friends I had not talked with in a while last night. One sent me some music today, the other came by and helped me clean and wash dishes today. The place is still a fair bit of a mess, but we did get all the dishes, pots, and pans washed, as well a filling a bag of trash.
Work changed health insurance companies this year, so I need to get a new insurance card.
Went to the dentist last week for a cleaning and checkup. No cavities as such, but the want to replace some of my old metal fillings.
Need to find the third of my 3 netflix discs. For one, I want to watch it! (Martian Successor Nadesico #6)
For another, I haven't sent anything back in a month, I need to do that.
And order a new computer, and some large hard drives.
Time to get back to my 11th level neutral human Monk on nethack.
