A whopping 68% said I should hold a poll. An additional 28% wasn't sure.

[livejournal.com profile] thudthwacker gets the contrarian award, as the sole No voter. He also said that the poll I shouldn't have should be on polling consistancy.

As to topic, the votes break down as follows:

"Anything" catagory (7 votes).
king_duncan -- Whatever interests you.
skitty -- Whatever you like
everfound -- The fun of other people's polls is I don't have to come up with it
gwinna -- Something interesting, and something we can all view the answers to.
greenquotebook -- anything - just make me laugh
felisdemens -- Things!
1cmf -- anything Kewl and Humorous.

"Monkeys and more" (5 votes)
_chandra -- monkeys
retch -- monkeys. Hordes of monkeys.
niobecyane -- um, fluffy bunnies?
das_hydra -- Pirates
pulzella_gaia -- Giant Squid

"Meta voters" (3 votes)
jet_li_wannabe -- I kinda like the meta-poll thing.
john666 -- rolly pollies
thudthwacker -- Polling consistency

"Serious" (3 votes)
dragonlilyfly -- Troops in Athens
jfitz -- Do people like their jobs?
onecrazymother -- where to go camping next month

"Funny" (2 votes)
jerel -- Spanish Inquisition: Big Misunderstanding or Evil?
the_malum -- Cake is good.

"Misc" (1 vote)
yolen -- all the different ways in which you are cute ;)

And finally, 64% of us like shiny things.

This last fact accounts for things like the Harley Motorcycle design philosophy, which was explained to me as "If (motorcycle part) is too weak, make it bigger. If that makes it ugly, chrome it."

I wonder if the police would arrest someone for driving a car that was entirely chromed. It sure would be shiny!

Which reminds me of something else I was discussing. Looking at the various "new" colors cars are being made (for example, metallic copper), I thought: Isn't it time we moved beyond these simple 1 color schemes for our vehicles? I would think by this point, the technology should be there for total custom factory paint jobs. If I decide I want my car in plaid or paisley, I should be able to get it. Alternately, I should be able to provide a nice hi-res image to the vendor and have it printed on the hood, trunk, or roof, if I like.

It would certainly make it easier to spot your car in the parking lot.

Poll to come later. There's still time to get in last minute input if you haven't voted yet.
