I've been slow in journaling things. So, in reverse braindump:

Saturday [livejournal.com profile] yolen and I went and saw Donnie Darko, the directors cut, which is currently in theaters. Neither of us had seen it before. It was good, but in a seriously weird way. Scores high on the FU meter. We also saw Festival Express, which was enjoyable, but not much more than that. It's a documentary about the 1970 Festival train that crossed Canada carrying The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, Buddy Guy, Sha-Na-Na, and others. It was a serious party train. At one point, the bands had drunk the train dry, and they made an unscheduled stop in front of a liquor store, which they bought out.

Friday [livejournal.com profile] yolen made dinner for me, at her place (which I finally got to see), and I met her parents.

Thursday [livejournal.com profile] 1cmf, AP, and I finally got a little gaming in.

Sunday the 1st of August, my parents came for a visit, to give me my new toaster over (a birthday present I wasn't able to haul back in May), and some fresh sweet corn from the farm.

Saturday the 31st of July, I attended [livejournal.com profile] renegade_geek's Blue Moon party, thanks to a lift from [livejournal.com profile] the_malum. A good time was had, and I saw many of you there. At one point, someone noted that of all the people in the living room, only one didn't have a livejournal or weblog. He's since been shamed into joining us, as [livejournal.com profile] mrpress.

Friday the 23rd of July, [livejournal.com profile] yolen and I got seriously rained on, at Central Park summer stage, but it was worth it to see Devo. The opening bands (Stellastar and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) were ok, better than the usual annoying opening bands. The rain stopped shortly before Devo took the stage, and returned in force in what was quite literally two seconds after they left the stage. It was freaky-odd.

Still need to finish editing dance photos. The director is starting to pester me about it.

Presidential astrology.

Not astrology about the presidents, but a system of "astrology" (presidology?), forecasts based on who was President when you were born, and how long they were in office.

"September 1972 - you were born with a waning Nixon, but with Agnew still in office. You will have difficultly overcoming obstacles today. Good day to stay in bed, burn hidden tapes."
