Weekend update time.
Aug. 30th, 2004 12:38 pmOn Friday,
yolen and I went to see End of the Century, the Ramones documentary. Very good. Go see it.
Saturday was a nice day, and we didn't want to waste it loafing indoors.
yolen suggested maybe a trip to a museum, and I thought of The Cloisters, which I had never been to, but my former roommate Edwin had recommended.
So off we went, the bus to Port Authority, the A train (cue the Duke Ellington) to 190th St., and a lovely walk through Fort Tryon Park. The museum is part of the Met, and houses their Medieval art and antiquities.
Sunday was the rain date for the modern dance that was supposed to have happened two weeks ago. I went and shot photos, first trying my newer camera (Panasonic FZ10) before running out of card space, and switching back to my trusty Olympus C-2100UZ.
I have to say, even though it's only 2.1 megapixels, I still prefer the Olympus for a number of points, most notably that the viewfinder has a larger image and the shutter feels more responsive, both important when you are shooting dance near-continuous for an hour. The FZ10 has some good points -- 4MP, a bit more zoom, settable white balance -- but over all, I'll give the 2100 better marks.
