Crokinole and Carrom boards. I had one of these square Carrom boards as a kid, with the one side having a chess/checkerboard (which was used), and the other having this unknown to me game, so I've never played it. Years later, I stumbled across this online, and the mystery was revealed. I'm not sure where the board came from, probably from an estate sale auction where my father bought a box or two of stuff for a dollar. Carrom at wikipedia.
The board may still be in my parents' basement, but I seem to recall the plywood started separating and it was discarded. Not sure.
